DC Vesica Piscis

I saw this photo on DCist this morning. Take a good close look at the layout of the Washington Monument.

Is that not the Vesica Piscis run through with the monument?

Who knew that from above we have the chalice well design right here larger than life.

ETA link to wikipedia above.

Wow. I think it needs ribbons on it--perfect for Beltane!

I think we've been wanting to do something like that for quite some time, actually.

When you get Masons to design your city, you get awesome occult stuff built right in!

Oddly, that view you see there is new, due to security renovations to the grounds of the Washington Monument a few years ago. There may have been Masonic involvement in the planning, who knows, but certainly was not part of the original plans.

*Laughs hysterically*

And you know what I saw?

A scrotum, penis, and a piercing with a bar-bell through the head of the penis....

I showed it to my partner, explaining what I saw.

*Grins*

He gasped in horror and yelled out "Gah!"

Yeah, this is a good picture....

Happy Beltane! I am delighted to add this to my catalog of DC's sacred geometry!

How ultimately Washingtonian is that! :D I love it here.

Very interesting (if not entirely unexpected), but you might want to put a link to Wikipedia or something explaining what a Vesica Piscis is to those of us in the laity.

Done. :) Sorry for being obscure, and unlinky. I guess I just figured folks would look it up on their own.

Can't say I'm surprised -- but that's fabulous. I'm going to add it to my Magickal Washington map!

That is totally awesome! You may want to include the monument to veterans of the second division that looks like the ace of swords.

BTW -- I was looking at in the sattelite view -- but it's so clear in the Map view!
